It is with great sorrow that I inform the community that my father Edgar P. (Bill) Everhard passed away peacefully on January 7, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ. I didn’t know about this site until just today as I was transferring my father’s National Public Radio piece from cassette to MP3. I attended the dedication ceremony at Ft. Benning and still remember how proud Dad and all the others attending were at the recognition the sinking was finally receiving. RIP all you heroes.
